Holidays! No interview this time. I joined the 5th Shinkyokushin summercamp. Here is an short impression of the camp! Just enjoy and be shure to be there as well next year!!! It was great fun...

Interesting event in the north of Amsterdam; The Mike's Gym Fighting Sports Tryout. A day filled with demo's and workshops especially for children. The two guys who organised this did a good job. I interviewed them in the dojo.

In Amsterdam there was an open day from budoschool Shin-Shin Bu Ken. Jan Kallenbach is the motor behind this dojo and I met an interesting sensei in Jodo. Jodo is not the same as Judo! Go check it out!

In Belgium the North Sea Camp 2008 took place. A Shinkyokushin karatecamp in Oostende. The trainings are usual on the beach which gives a karateka a nice feeling with the elements during hard trainings. I like this camp very much; the organisation is very good, accommodation is perfect, food is nice, trainings have a lot of variety and there is always an interesting instructorline-up. This year they managed to have the worldchampion as one of our instructors. Time for an interview mixed with some footage of the camp!

There are a lot of martial arts out there in the world but I never heard of Sippalki. Just like Taekwono this is a martial art from Korea, only different. In Amsterdam you can follow the lessons of master Choi. iFight went for a visit and had a pleasant surprise; the Korean television EBS was also present to shoot a documentary of Sippalki. A few weeks before this visit master Choi gave some lessons at my school where I made some footage too. I mixed these together so enjoy this issue!

A few months ago the FOG (Federatie Oosterse Gevechtskunsten) had it's 25th jubilee in Rotterdam. During the day there were a lot of activities going on. Seminars of all kinds of martial arts, an international Shinkyokushin Karate tournament, important people from the world of martial arts and ringsports were present. The chairman of the FOG did an interview with iFight. Unfortunately something went wrong with our microphone.... We did not succeed in doing another interview afterwards...so the sound quality is very, very poor. We apologize for that. However with the footage we made of the evening it's a nice and interesting issue after all!

In Winsum Dojo Katsu organised a special event; the Katsu Gala. Karateka's from all over Holland fight one match in a boxingring. Normally they fight on a tatami! In november 2006 Ted had lost his match on a karatetournament. Will he do it any better this time? Check it out!

The 30th of december 2007 our last show will be online. Issue #39. As I am out of the office like most people are in the days between x-mas and newyear, this issue will pop-up automatically on my videopage. In Amsterdam I discovered a special show in theatre. The show was called HRMNNH! Subtitled as Kung Fu Hossel. Before the show started, the actors gave a workshop kung fu to highschool students. I wanted to know more about this project so I made an issue of it. Enjoy our last show of 2007!

Every fighter is training with a partner, with a punching bag or something else. Holding the pads looks easy. If you want to be the padtrainer of Peter Aerts you need to have more skills. Is there a certain vision or technique? We joined a training from Peter Aerts and asked the best padtrainer of the world how it works.

Leon Miedema fights his way to the top. He wants to leave the C-class and go to the B-class. Will he win this match? Look at his fight and be the judge.

In Amsterdam the dutch taiji federation organised a taiji festival. Joppe Douwes is one of the organisers of this festival. iFight visited this festival to take a look at this martial art from China.

In a gym in The Hague a famous thai fighter, Ajarn Burklerk Pinshinchai, was giving seminars for 2 weeks. This fighter has done over 177 matches. He lost only 7 of these fights. He challenged the fighters he lost from for a rematch and won all fights. This must be a special man. Together with his wife he travels over the world and gives seminars. We asked him a few questions after we made footage of his seminar.

Peter Aerts is a great fighter. He is fighting the K-1 for many years now and he has signed up for 3 more years. How is it possible to be on the top for such a long time? iFight went to one of his trainings. This training was in Kops Gym in Amsterdam. Trainer of the day was Jan Plas. Go take a look at this!

Once every 4 years the world championship karate takes place in Tokyo, Japan. Mathias Kelderman is a participant from Holland. What about his preparation for this tournament? On a early sundaymorning we joined one of his trainings and asked him all about it. Our co-presentator Ted had the function of moving punching bag which he liked a lot.

The organisation FOG in Holland is now 25 years old. They organised a special night for their members. One of the activities was a shinkyokushin tournament. This issue will show you 2 fights and I asked a corner referee about the ins and outs of being a referee

This issue is just an extra issue. It contains no interview but some footage of the open air muaythai gala in Purmerend. Nice to see is the son of Melvin Manhoef in the ring.

In Hoofddorp there was a pencak silat festival, organised for the second time. The organiser, Cherry Smith and his school satria muda, invited me to come. There were several dojo's from all over Holland and this event was well prepared. Cherry had enough time to speak to me in front of the camera.

During sprinday which was organised by the NSKO, Sem Schilt (together with Dave Jonkers) gave a seminar to dutch karate fighters. Sem Schilt has been champion for more than once, in K-1 he is world champion at this moment. He turns out to be a good teacher and a true budoka. Luckily I managed to ask him a few questions! After this seminar there was a fighting training by Wim Scharrenberg which was also an examination. Some footage of this examination can be seen after the interview.

This week I had to go to London for work (no punishment at all!) Due to this situation I wasn't able to train in my own dojo. I thought it would be nice to search a dojo in London. Surprisingly I found the dojo from Shihan Nick da Costa! I sent him an email and got a nice response; You are welcom to join our training. Why not use my camera for an interview as well?

Shotokan karate is not my favorite karate style. Close to my home I read in the newspaper that there was a shotokan tournament. Time to visit this karate style and see what there philosophy is about.

Jan Kallenbach is a man who is living budo. He was there at the introduction of kyokushin karate and several other disciplines in martial arts. He was my selfdefense teacher at the academy of sports in Amsterdam. Now he is still teaching in a brand new dojo. Tai-ki-kenpo. I made some footage of this interesting discipline and after the training I asked him the questions I wanted to ask him years ago.

In Amstelveen I visited the Furuya Cup. These Kendocontests are only for the youth. It was already the 15th time this tournament was held. In the past 4 years a student of me asked me to visit this special event. It did not happen. Now iFight is in the air.... I guess you understand. I asked her to step in front of the camera and made some footage of this special day.

Amsterdam tegen Rotterdam is always a bit tensed. A boxing gala between these cities is an event I had to visit therefore.. It had been a while since this tournament was organised in past so I asked the initiator of this event, Ton Dunk jr, some questions and made some footage of this special night. Sorry for the crappy sound this time....

Fitness Center Special Sports invited everybody to take a look at their activities. I was attracted by the number of new martial arts they presented; 6! A nice surprise was that mma fighter Gilbert Yvel was also on the tatami.

In the newspaper I read that Mastwijk Taekwondoschool was giving a demo. Cor Mastwijk was my first martial arts teacher. Would he recognize me after 18 years? Time to spend some time for this teacher; in fact he is the one who inspired me to make these vodcasts for you!

During these days it's quiet in the world of martial arts. 3 weeks ago I made an xtra issue for these peacefull days. It's about our reporter Ted. He is fighting is first contest after 14 years of rest (?). Go take a look and we wish you a nice X-mas and strong 2007!

An email from a dojo in Kempo. Asking if we would like to take a look in their kitchen. What is kempo about in Holland? We asked a few questions and made some footage of this normal wednesdaynight training. This is our 20th issue! This year I will not produce any more issue's. My friend Dennis sent me an email. He asked me to join his examination for 2nd dan. Of course we went to Amersfoort to see his skills. After the examination we asked him a few questions..

Issue #18; New topfighter from Chakuriki? Ramzi did a fight in Purmerend (Issue #3). After this fight we did an interview. Somehow I did not record it (stupid). Time to do this interview again! Ramzi had to fight in Amsterdam so we recorded his punches and kicks and asked him some questions.

Koen Scharrenberg did a demonstration by breaking boards and a baseball bat. Before he started we asked him how to do that! This demo was recorded during the dutch championships for youth and beginners, organised by dojo Renshu, part of the NSKO. Click on the picture to go to video page.

Last weekend the dutch championships of Kendo were organised in Delft. Our reporter Ted did an interview with the dutch champion. Of course there is a windowsversion available too.... Oh, right now we are five months old and the number of visitors is still growing. Not only dutch visitors but lots of interested foreigners too!

Krav Maga is booming. Last year I trained Krav Maga. My teacher was Franklyn Hartkamp, director of IKMF. I was very impressed by his skills. An issue about Krav Maga had to be created! Here it is.. In Hilversum we went to the studio's of Eurosport. We met Fred Royers who is the voice behind a few programs connected with fighting sports. It was a very nice and interesting conversation. 30 minutes of footage. Shortened to 7 minutes. Maybe we will make a second part because the cut parts are also interesting. At this moment we are reconstructing our website. A few chapters added; A dutch kalender with martial arts events and legend and star chapters. Reactions are really welcome! Oh, and yesterday we visited Fred Royers from Eurosport while he was giving comments on pride (live broadcasting). What a kind and passionate fighter this is! We visited the dan examinations of Hanmudo in Europe, Uden. The founder of Hanmudo was also present! We did not know what Hanmudo was... We were very impressed! Check out this martial art!

Sunday evening the 24th of september I recorded a match of Leon Miedema. His previous match was dissapointing because of an injury of his opponent. Now was the time to leave that chapter behind him. And he did! 15 minutes after this match he gives comments on his own match by watching my footage. An interesting episode! Keep an eye on this fighter; he might become a great champion! Tyrone Spong is wishing him luck...

At the beginning of this month we visited a small village in the north of Holland; Julianadorp. They have quite a big accommodation and we watched a demo of all kinds of martial arts. Paul Jansen wanted to tell us something about this demo and accommodation.

A windows version of Jon Bluming is now available. The servers of orbitfiles were not accessible because of too much traffic. Now that it is fixed, I posted the file. The quality of this file is poor, I have to say that. A 10 minutes movie in Windowsformat takes a lot of megabytes. Too keep it small I had to reduce Quality..... Bigger file is available (with much better quality) so please let me know if you're willing to download that one.. I keep on saying; Quicktime...

Finally we finished our vodcast with Jon Bluming. This was not an easy one! Our interview was 37 minutes long and we made it a little shorter; 10 minutes long. Still a big file. As you may have noticed, our Window Media Files could not be downloaded for 2 days. Sorry for that! The problem was at orbitfiles.com. They could not handle the traffic (!) so they are making new scripts and placing all files on faster servers.. I expect our windowsmovies will be available soon... Yesterday iFight had a little talk with Andre Visch, a great fighter from the eighties. He knocked out 5 japanese fighters in a row during the 7th world open karate tournament iko2 . Japan was very impressed by his fighting skills. Right now he is still into budo but on a different way we might say. At the end of oktober we will make a vodcast about him. If you are a regular visitor of iFight you already saw our new costume! Thanks to Ralph Booms who did a very good job in designing this costume! I also got a lot of help from my friend John who owns a similar website called iSkateboard. Right now a lot of stuff is refreshed and I am trying to create this page in two languages; English and Dutch. Almost finished!

Today I visited Jon Bluming. This 73 year old legend had a lot to tell. During this pleasant conversation he also showed me interesting attributes of Japan. Due to vacation and 3 other running vodcasts (!) it will take a while before we broadcast this interesting interview...

Today I met Robbie from fighttalk.nl. He showed me his shop (in the ghetto of Nieuwegein) and I asked him about his website, shop and ambitions. On the other side of his shop there was another shop. Surprisingly, Rayen Simson was working there! How small this world can be... Vodcast about the conversation with Robbie will follow... Due to vacation and 2 other running vodcasts it may take a while. iFight will try to interview Rayen too in future!

Yesterday I went to the Kwakoe Festival in Amsterdam. The weather was very good which made this festival really tropical. For the fighters of the muaythai gala it was maybe a little bit too hot. The stage needed to be sprinkled to keep it cool. Interesting fights; especially the young ones! At this moment I am editing all the footage. Due to webspace problems it make take a while for this vodcast going online..... Stay tuned for more info. Last wednesday we did an interview with Remy Bonjasky. After his workshop Remy had a few minutes left for our smiley reporter Ted! Thanks Ted for doing this interview! Right now our old pc's are rendering this vodcast (issue #4). Ifight.eu is having some trouble with webspace (only 25 mb allowed) so working on that too. Check this vodcast within 3 or 4 days...

Finally we've got permission to broadcast our vodcast with Mr. Niiho! In the "Stars" - chapter there is also text/information about this seminar. I am still working on a better version of this vodcast because subtitles are hard to read and quality of this video does not please me. However, enjoy this special vodcast!

It was a pretty big iFight weekend for us. Saturday we had to do examination for 2nd kyu and sunday I visited the Open Lucht Muaythai gala in Purmerend. Unfortunately a lot of fights were cancelled. The weather forecast did not help either. I made a few shots of the last contest and did a interview with an interesting man; trainer and the organisor of this event:

Thank you very much for your reactions! This site has been "on air" for only 3 weeks and I already get very positive reactions (also from Japan!). Time is a difficult factor. Today I went to do a training for myself and I saw at least 150 Aikido's working together to improve! Unfortunately I did not bring my camera with me (stupid). From now on, I will carry this JVC with me every day...... Keep me posted please! Fighters for Fighters...

Ranjit Nelissen heeft afgelopen zaterdag zijn 1e dan gehaald in Jiu Jitsu! We feliciteren hem daarom natuurlijk hartelijk! Ik heb even met hem gesproken over het examen en het was zeker geen cadeautje. Een overvolle en daardoor zeer hete zaal maakte het examen nog zwaarder dan het al was. Wellicht dat we binnenkort wat beelden mogen ontvangen en deze in een kort Vodcastje kunnen verwerken. We zijn namelijk heel erg benieuwd naar zijn handelingen. Trots zijn we op je (en de andere kandidaten die ook geslaagd zijn natuurlijk!).
